- PRE-SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Acquisition Logistics and Construction, National Acquisition Center, Business Resource Service, Hines, IL is hereby issued. An Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about October 18, 2011 in anticipation of a Firm Fixed Priced construction contract award, for Project 796-10-027, to Renovate (9) Nine Restrooms at Building #37, Hines, Illinois. The successful contractor will completely prepare site for building operations, demolition (to include removal of existing structures), and furnish all labor and materials in the performance of work to accomplish remodeling of nine (9) existing toilet rooms, as required by drawings and specifications. Work will include but not be limited to phasing, general construction, alterations, mechanical, plumbing and electrical work, necessary removal of existing structures and certain other items. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006, Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms (100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms only). All prospective contractors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation will be posted on www.fbo.gov on or about October 18, 2011. Bid opening will be on or about December 20, 2011. Bidders are responsible for monitoring and downloading any amendments from FedBizOpps which may be issued to this solicitation. The contract range is between $500,000, and $1,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 million applies. This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203. The Contracting Officer will not be able to answer any question to this notice until an IFB is issued and questions will only be answered that are received by Request for Information (RFI). The Contracting Office will not maintain a bidder's mailing list at this point. All interested parties should register via FedBizOpps interested vendors list. Do not contact the Contracting Officer for General Contractor Information. It is the responsibility of the bidder to monitor and download amendments from FedBizOpps which may be issued to this notice and or resulting solicitation.
