Description
Construction Services to be performed under the firm fixed price contract will consist of the following: The Armament Shop facility will provide services to the weapons systems in aircraft flown by the 58th SOW and transient aircraft. It will include administration, training area, a weapons vault, weapons workshop, and cleaning areas, a training room, and offices, as well as, support areas. It will have a vehicle drive-through for secure, all-weather loading and delivery, a compressed air system and special ventilations for weapons cleaning. The new facility will be designed to store limited quantities of Explosive Transport Class Division 1.4, Compatibility Groups C&S, explosive devices. The ammunition stored is 9mm rounds. The HMC-130 Fuel Cell Maintenance Facility will provide a one story facility with a hangar bay for aircraft maintenance. The facilities exterior will meet Kirtland AFB's Architectural Compatibility Plan (ACP). The facility includes a hangar bay, support areas, offices locker room, breakroom, and dispatch office. This new facility will provide adequate area for the HC/MC-130 recapitalization, new mission training, and aircraft beddown. The new hangar shall fully enclose an aircraft up to the size of the HC/MC-130 aircraft. In addition, adequate area for a composites repair shop will be provided by adding a 351 SM (3,772 SF) composites repair shop to existing the corrosion control facility (CCF) Bldg 985. The addition is to be a pre-engineered steel structure matching existing structure, with reinforced concrete foundation and floor, structural steel frame, insulated corrugated steel walls and roof. The project includes HVAC and special ventilation systems, fire detection and suppression systems, separate clean, dirty and transition shop rooms.
