- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for the purchase of (2) SMART Technologies 70interactive displays, ancillary material including Display Mounting Bracket, HDMI Pro50', HDMI Ultra 9', HDMI 101 Plus Cable equalizer, HDMI Female to DVI-D Male Adapter, USBSuperbooster Extender, installation, Engineering and Programming effort.NASA/LaRC intends to purchase these items from The Whitlock Group, Virginia Beach,Virginia. SMART Technologies SMART Board interactive displays can be directly integratedinto existing web-based video conferencing capabilities, without the use of proprietaryhardware, software, or protocols. NASA currently has an ongoing annual maintenanceagreement for the equipment in place with The Whitlock Group. While able to servicenewly acquired equipment, other vendors would not be able to assume maintenance on theexisting equipment, installed by a different vendor.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon Tuesday, September 27th. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
