- Announcement of Opportunity N056150 (supersedes and replaces AoO N029020) Optics for ATST Visible Broadband Imager The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. (AURA), on behalf of the National Solar Observatory, is soliciting proposals for the manufacture of optical components for the blue channel of the Visible Broadband Imager (VBI), an instrument for the proposed Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST). AURA and the ATST Project are constructing this 4-meter solar telescope under a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation. This contract will be funded by money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Public Law 111-5) and as such the requirements set forth at 2 CFR Part 176, "Award Terms for Assistance Agreements that include funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5," shall be applied. The selected contractor shall provide two doublet and two singlet lenses that vary from approximately 50 to 280 mm diameter and contain several aspherical surfaces. The materials of these lenses are: silica, N-PSK3, N-LLF1, N-BK7. AURA is seeking proposals for the manufacture of the optical components. A firm who has already submitted a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire in fulfillment of AoO N029020 need not submit another one. Proposals must be received not later than 3:00 PM, MST, Friday, October 28, 2011 per the Instructions to Offerors.
