Description
The U. S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, located at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.07806-5000 is currently seeking qualified sources to manufacture any of the following Mortar Metal Containers used to support the production, delivery and packaging of mortar cartridges: Metal Container (PA191) for 60mm Mortar Ctgs: M721, M767, M722A1 Metal Container (PA157) for 81mm Mortar Ctgs: M816, M819, M853A1 Metal Container (PA154) for 120mm Mortar Ctgs: M983,M929, M930 The 60mm/81mm/120mm Mortar Metal Outer Containers are rectangular, gasket sealed, outer metal containers for the 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm mortar cartridges. The specific containers required are the PA154 for the 120mm Smoke/Illum, the PA157 for the 81mm Smoke/Illum and the PA191 for the 60mm Illum/Smoke. The 60mm/81mm/120mm Mortar Metal Outer Containers are designed to hold mortar cartridges. The 60mm Metal Outer Container holds eight (8) cartridges, the 81mm Metal Outer Container holds three (3) cartridges and the 120mm Metal Outer Container holds two (2) cartridges. The Manufacturing of these packaging containers requires an extensive background in the production of metal ammunition containers. Based on the above, the Government anticipates soliciting offerors for award of multiple Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts to be used for Full & Open Competition (F&O) on subsequent Delivery Orders. This requirement is planned for delivery to the Army (for 5-years with 2 additional option years) of Metal Containers used to support the production, delivery, and packaging of mortar cartridges. Under the IDIQ, each item shall be proposed upon individually and will be evaluated separately resulting in a possible award. All containers will be used to package Fiber Tubes containing mortar cartridges. In addition, the contractor shall test and be responsible for providing all equipment, tooling, and material including packaging and palletization materials required to manufacture and deliver the containers. Estimated quantities over this potential 7-year period include up to 24,000 containers for the PA 191; up to 87,000 containers for the PA 157; and up to 240,000 containers for the PA154. Interested sources shall identify which of the metal container(s) they are interested in producing. Offerors shall provide a summary of their companys capabilities, including, but not limited to, company overview, name/address/point of contact identification, a description of existing facilities/equipment capabilities, past government contract experience, product manufacturing capabilities, and monthly production capacity. Interested sources shall also state whether the company is a large or small business. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information that is to be submitted shall be at no cost or obligation to the Government and information provided will not be returned. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. In addition, this requirement is subject to Distribution D Authority and under this market survey no technical data packages shall be provided.
