Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Cherry Point Satellite Contract Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Thermo Electron North America LLC, 1400 N Point Pkwy Ste 10, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1976, (Cage Code: 13WXJ7) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to establish a contract for maintenance of ARL Quant ™X, EDXRF X-Ray Spectrometer for a base period of twelve (12) months with provisions for four (4) twelve-month options. Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required items. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Thermo Electron North America LLC, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the machines. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
