Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, intends to negotiate a sole source contract for the purchase of Coronary Stents for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 820 S. Damen Ave, Chicago, IL. with Boston Scientific. The authority for this procurement is FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements and (41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1)), It is to the best of our knowledge, that Boston Scientific is the only manufacturer of the Taxus Liberte Stent, which is undergoing clinical trials, at the Jesse Brown VAMC, to observe the real world outcomes of patients receiving this particular coronary stent and the clinical outcomes of optimal timeframes of dual anti-platelet therapy post implantation This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, any interested parties shall respond to this notice within 5 days after date of this publication to be considered by the Government. The following information shall be submitted in order to be considered: Evidence of FDA approved products, Evidence of product trial data and documentation of studies supporting efficacy. Responses received will be evaluated; however, any determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the government will proceed with the sole source negotiations with Boston Scientific. Any responses shall be emailed to Becky Cincotta at becky.cincotta@va.gov.
