Description
The US Army Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems,Picatinny, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for an M326 M120 Stowage system which can be integrated to a M1101 trailer. The stowage system must be able to emplace and displace the 120mm Mortar System with out requiring the disassembly of the mortar. The Government contemplates procurement of 26 stowage systems. The stowage system must be able to emplace and displace the M120 Mortar System without removal of the weapon from its bipod and baseplate (weapon must remain fully assembled). The system must be compatible with the existing M998 HMMWV and M1101 trailer. The system must weigh no more than 500 lbs. Emplace and displace times must be less than current ARTP standards for the battalion mortar crew in standard, daytime conditions. The system shall allow for removal of the fired system from all soil types when buried to a depth of 24 inches. The system shall be operable by the 5th to 95th percentile infantryman and be operable by crews in MOPP IV gear as well as by crews outfitted for arctic operations. The system must be able to operate independently from a towing vehicle. The system must be able to be recharged from a standard NATO power connector. The system must also provide a manual emplace/displace backup for the automated system. The system must include operator and maintainer manuals, spare/repair parts analysis indicating level of repair and identification of parts to be spared/quantities to be spared. Potential candidates must possess the production line, manufacturing equipment and tooling, inspection fixtures, automated acceptance test equipment, technical knowledge, and expertise to deliver all 26 systems within 3 months after award. All responding sources shall provide a summary of the company capabilities including organization, name/address/point of contact identification, a description of facilities/equipment, manufacturing process, inspection and qualification capability, personnel, past experience, proven monthly production capacity, possible partnering/teaming arrangements; and whether the company is small or large business. The market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government will utilize information provided for planning purposes only. All information submitted will be provided at no cost to the Government and will be held in confidential status. The contractor shall provide all information requested in this notification within 15 calendar days of this publication by electronic mail to Jason.mackie@us.army.mil.
