Description
Submit quotations to USACE, Baltimore, 10 S. Howard Street, Room 700, Contracting Division, Baltimore, MD 21201 Contracting Division POC is Josephine Baran, josephine.e.baran@usace.army.mil (410)962-0972. The contractor shall furnish the necessary supplies, labor, tools, containers and equipment for the collection, transportation, and disposal of septage and sludge at various public use and sewage treatment facilities located throughout the Raystown Lake Project. Contractor must have adequate equipment to remove septage from vaults and dispose of this septage in accordance with all Federal, State, Local and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection guidelines. The contractor shall refill vaults with clean water to a depth of not less than 18 inches. Contractor will insure that no contamination of the lake or any watercourse will occur during pumping or refilling. Immediately after providing clean water, the contractor will apply a Deodorizer approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative at the label recommended rate to the vault. Contractor must remove all debris from vaults. This debris may be disposed at dumpster located at disposal point. The contractor must also provide adequate equipment for proper application of sludge onto agricultural fields as per all Federal, State, Local, and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection guidelines. This includes a system that provides an even spray of liquid sludge to the soil surface. The contractor must be able to provide a means of applying sludge to fields metered at a calculated tonnage of sludge per acre. This application of sludge must be recorded and may be inspected for accuracy. A record of the equipment's actual calibrated rate of application shall be supplied to the Contracting Officer's Representative. Application of sludge onto agricultural fields requires coordination with the designated project personnel who will determine appropriate conditions for application.
