Description
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) Scott Field Office has issued a modification P00032 to contract DCA200-03-D-5006 for the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) United States Atomic Energy Detection System (USAEDS) Network. The current contract is a single award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract. This modification will extend the period of performance on the current contract for one (1) year, starting on 01 Nov 2011 via five (5) month base period and seven (7) one (1) month option periods. The purpose of this modification is to continue support to the AFTAC USAEDS network until the follow-on requirement, solicited as HC1013-10-R-2005, is awarded. The follow-on acquisition has already been solicited as a competitive Small Business Set-Aside with a proposal closing date of 09 December 2010. Award of the follow-on requirement is scheduled for the first quarter FY2012. AFTAC is the sole DoD agency responsible for monitoring nuclear treaty compliance, whose mission has grown and developed, spanning more than 50 years of long-range detection. AFTAC has evolved into one of our nation's most unique resources by monitoring worldwide compliancy of nuclear treaties, supporting our nation's space programs, and providing information that helps protect everyone during emergencies involving nuclear materials. AFTAC has a network of sensors known as the USAEDS network. It consists of a worldwide network of seismic technologies deployed to detect, identify, and locate a nuclear explosion underground, underwater, in the atmosphere, and in space.
