THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE - THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO WEST PUBLISHING CORPORATION TO PROVIDE SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR ALL US CODE ANNOTATED 2012 POCKET PARTS, VOLUME AND GENERAL INDEX PAMPHLETS The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source contract under the statutory authority permitting Other than full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2(iii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, to West Publishing Corporation, 610 Opperman Drive, St Paul, MN, 55123 for Subscription Services for the US Code Annotated 2012 Pocket Parts, Volume and General Index Pamphlets. The Government anticipates a single Purchase Order Award. The Contractor shall provide: Fiscal Year 2012 Subscription: All United States Code Annotated (U.S.C.A) Law Books, 2012, including Pocket Parts Volume and General Index Pamphlets Fiscal Year 2012 Subscription: US Code Annotated Pocket Parts, 37 Volumes and General Index Pamphlets, Title 10, full set (15 Volume Books) This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement, no later than 9:00 am Eastern, 15 November 2011 by email to karen.smith@whs.mil. All information submitted should support the offerors capability to provide the items required, and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511130, Book Publishers with a size standard of 500 employees.
