Description
On or about 9 November 2011, the Southern Regional Contracting Office intends to issue solicitation W81K00-12-T-M003 and ultimately a sole source purchase order to Simulab Corporation of Seattle, Washington for the TraumaMan training system with associated accessories for use in the Advanced Trauma Life Support course for students at the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute, Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Items will be ordered on an as-needed basis during the period of approximately 18 November 2011 - 30 September 2012. However, all responsible concerns may submit a quote, which will be considered by the agency. The quote shall include information of sufficient detail to demonstrate that the proposed manuals and fees possess the same characteristics of Simulab Corporation's TraumaMan system, as described below. The anatomic human body models or manikins must be approved for use by the American College of Surgeons, and possess the following characteristics in order to allow students to practice the various surgical skills/procedures taught in the course: layers of simulated human tissue and fibrous material (depending on the body region on which procedures are being performed) where the simulated human tissue must include artificial venous and arterial channels; needle and surgical cricothyroidotomies must be able to be performed on this model; the model must include simulated human tissue structures on the exterior of the neck, cricoids cartilage, thyroid cartilage, and cricothyroid ligament; the model must allow for needle and tube decompression and pericardiocentesis; the model must also perform air flow inside the pleura for a realistic response during chest decompression and artificial lungs that simulate breathing; and the model must have a heart and pericardium that is filled with simulated body fluids for performing pericardiocentesis. INTERESTED PARTIES MUST RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE ON OR BEFORE 17 NOVEMBER 2011, 12:00 P.M. CST. AWARD WILL BE MADE ON OR AFTER THIS DATE. Delivery: Army Medical Department Center & School (AMEDDC&S) Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute (DMRTI) 1706 Stanley Road, Suite B108 Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234
