Description

Federal Business Opportunities, Sources Sought (Request for Information) Austin Information Technology Center Offsite Storage Requirement, VA118A-12-I-0021 This is a FBO Sources Sought (Request for Information, RFI) for a tentative requirement for offsite storage facility services for the Austin Information Technology Center (AITC). In order to meet the requirements of disaster recovery, the AITC must procure the services of an offsite storage facility. This facility shall provide the safe and secure storage of disaster recovery materials in the event that a catastrophic event renders the AITC's materials processing inoperative or the AITC facility inaccessible. The contractor shall provide secure transportation of the materials from the AITC to the storage facility on a daily basis. All tapes will be transported in locked storage containers. The AITC will supply the containers and locks. Contractor shall provide two copies of shipping and receiving receipts: one for AITC records and one for storage facility's records. In the event of a catastrophic event at the AITC, the contractor shall provide secure transportation of the materials from the storage facility to the designated location specified by AITC's COTR. A critical requirement is that callbacks must be delivered within 2 hours. This requirement is further defined in the attached Draft Performance Work Statement. As part of its market research, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this Sources Sought/RFI to determine if an adequate number of qualified interested contractors, capable of providing the services described in the attached PWS, exists. The Government may use the responses to this Sources Sought/RFI for information and planning purposes. The Draft PWS describes only the currently contemplated possible scope of services and may vary from the work scope in a final PWS included in any Request for Quotations (RFQ). It is anticipated that a formal RFQ will be issued within the next 6 months. The AITC is located at the following address: 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, TX 78772. This Sources Sought/RFI is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of VA's market research. No RFQ exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the RFQ. There is no guarantee that VA will issue a formal RFQ on FBO. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought/RFI. This Sources Sought/RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute a RFQ. The Government does not intend to make an award based only on responses to this Sources Sought/RFI. All information received in response to this Sources Sought/RFI marked "Proprietary" will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Responses to the Sources Sought/RFI will not be returned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought/RFI. VA will not pay for information received in response to this Sources Sought/RFI. There is no commitment by the Government to issue an RFQ, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this Sources Sought/RFI.
