Description
Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research for potential sources and best practice information regarding industry manufacturing capabilities for the production of a Berry Amendment compliant, government-owned design, USMC Corpsman Assault System. For the purposes of this Request for Information, (1) complete USMC Corpsman Assault System includes the following: Qty Item (1) Corpsman Assault Pack (22 x 14 x 4 ) similar to the USMC Assault Pack (18) Medical Inserts of varying dimensions to be mounted inside of the Corpsman Assault Pack (1) Sustainment bag (20 x 14 x 4 ) (1) Trauma pouch similar to USMC combat trauma bag, NSN 8465-01-571-5231 (1) Thigh rig similar to the Advanced Life Support (ALS) leg kit, NSN 6515-01-531-6535 The Corpsman Assault System will be constructed of material similar to that found within the USMC Pack system, as outlined in the Family of Improved Load Bearing Equipment (FILBE) PD dated 10 May 2011 (updated 14 July 2011). WRITTEN RESPONSES No related Industry Day is scheduled in conjunction with this RFI. Respondents are requested to include company literature, brochures, and capability summaries (To include manufacturing capabilities and description of facilities) directly addressing the following: 1. The company s ability to meet a total initial production capacity of 10,000 complete USMC Corpsman Assault Systems at a rate of 1,000 complete USMC Corpsman Assault Systems delivered NLT 60 calendar days post First Article Test (FAT) approval and a sustained rate of 2,500 complete USMC Corpsman Assault Systems per month with delivery beginning NLT 90 day calendar days post FAT approval. 2. Based on your current square footage, current contracts for calendar years 2012-2013, and a 60 day ramp-up schedule, what is the maximum number of COMPLETE Corpsman Assault Systems per month with delivery beginning NLT 90 day calendar days post FAT approval you are able to produce? Explain in detail, to include the use of partnerships to accomplish the total monthly number of COMPLETE systems. 3. Percentage of work to be completed by Highly Underutilized Business Zones, to include sub-contractors, broken down by individual company and associated percentage of work. 4. Identifying business size, manufacturing capability and facilities for all prime contractors. 5. Initial estimated cost of (1) Complete Corpsman Assault System based on the use of industry standard material. Any proprietary information submitted may be used in establishing requirements, but specific offeror information will be safeguarded as proprietary. There is no page restriction associated with this RFI; however, an executive summary, not to exceed five (5) pages, should accompany each submission. The Marine Corps will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities currently exist in the marketplace which meet the Government's requirements outlined above. No Product Demonstration Models are requested as this is market research for a government owned design. No telephonic responses will be accepted.
