This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. The Atlanta VA Medical Center, Decatur, GA intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Teague Enterprises, 2829 Cascade Place, Davis, CA, 95618-1621, to acquire the TE-10 Smoking Machine and its accessory components as outlined below. ten (10) Nichrome Wire Lighters two (2) Spare Pumps one (1) Hood Control Unit, collection & dilution chamber, blower unit, compressor, orifice meters and controls two (2) Mouse Exposure Chambers and Meters one (1) Filter Sampling Unit with Filter Holder one (1) Dry Gas Meter 0-26 LPM one (1) Calibration of System >20 Test Points for TSP, CO, #conc, Part Size and Nicotine Installation andTraining This is a specialized piece of equipment designed specifically designed to expose rodents to precise levels of cigarette smoke in a clinically relevant fashion. The NAICS code is 334516. This notice of intent is NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing this equipment to the Contract Specialist identified below. All responses must be received not later than 12:00PM Noon CT on 11/23/2011. E-mail:valeria.murray@va.gov. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is VA247-12-Q-0012. This solicitation incorporates the following clauses by reference: Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.204-7, 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, 52.212-5, 52.211-6.
