Description

The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, 1481 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, Indiana intends to negotiate with Indiana University for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) services as designated by the Association and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). The proposed action is for IACUC services, which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). The Government believes that only one (1) responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirements. This belief is based on that Indiana University is the sole School of Medicine in the state of Indiana that can provide the specialized expertise and knowledge to adhere to the required guidelines, protocols, and remain accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes, but responses received on or before November 25, 2011 will be evaluated. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is only within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses must be submitted in writing to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Attention: Lisa Frymier, Contracting Officer (90CSC), 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202, email at Lisa.Frymier@va.gov or fax at 317-988-1809. Responses must be received no later than 4:30pm, Friday, November 25, 2011, No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
