- The Regional Contracting Office “ Far East (RCO-FE), Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler, Okinawa, Japan hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Modern Systems, Inc., 1111 Old Stage Rd, Yadkinville, NC, 27055, under authority of FAR 13.501(a). Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the unique or specialized nature of the work. Navy Medicine West Okinawa, Japan Detachment has a new requirement to install cables/wiring for the TekCare400 Audio AVNC Nurse Call System to be installed and utilized in the new Host Nation Naval Hospital Okinawa replacement project on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The Government intends to modify the existing contract (M67400-11-P-0206) to include the new requirement of installing the cable/wiring in the Host Nation Naval Hospital. The TekCare400Audio Visual Nurse Call (AVNC) System offers virtually unrestricted flexibility in assignment of reporting for system patient stations, peripherals, and nurse consoles. The system is a single network capable of up to: 15 Central Equipment units, supporting up to 40 Master Station consoles, up to 640 Patient Station annunciation points, and over 7,040 Peripheral Stations. It also features Tek-MMARS 400. Tek-MMARS 400 provides a management reporting software that tracks the system and staff performance that allows tailoring to meet the staff and patients needs. This system has the features and ability to interface with Government of Japan (GOJ) provided and installed Tone Visual Nurse Call (TVNC) System and provides reports in the AVNC System. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received in a timely manner of ten days (10) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
