- THIS NOTICE IS POSTED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY: THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE FOLLOWING CONTRACTORS AWARDED A CONTRACT UNDER SOLICITATION NUMBER W912EP-10-R-0023: Great Lakes Dredge and Dock, LLC (W912EP-11-D-0004); Weeks Marine, Inc. (W912EP-11-D-0005 and Dutra Dredging Company (W912EP-11-D-0007). PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FROM ANY ENTITY OTHER THAN THE PREVIOUSLY LISTED FIRMS INCLUDED IN THE COAST GUARD CERTIFIED HOPPER DREDGING MATOC POOL. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Project work consists of maintenance dredging in Cut-1N of Kings Bay Entrance Channel and Ranges A and A1 of the Kings Bay Inner Channel. Cut-1N dredging encompasses Station 80+00 to Station 350+00 and may include optional dredging in the North Settling Basin. Dredging in the Cut-1N channel will be to a required depth of 49 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Dredging within Ranges A/A1, which is optional (Option B), will be to a required depth of 45 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth in designated areas between Station 2+700 and Station 10+000. Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of beach compatible material will be excavated from the channel between Station 100+00 and Station 200+00, and 150,000 cubic yards from the North Settling Basin to a required depth of 40 feet with a 2-foot allowable overdepth. All beach compatible material will be placed in the North Beach Disposal Area (D/A-NB) located approximately 3.5 miles from the dredging area. If excessive erosion occurs along the Fort Clinch shoreline prior to the start of dredging, a portion of the beach-quality material may also be placed in the Fort Clinch Disposal Area (D/A-F) to restore protection of the fort structure. Non-beach compatible material will be excavated, transported to, and placed in the Fernandina Ocean Disposal Area (D/A-O) which is located approximately 14 miles southeast of the dredging areas. Approximately 30,000 cubic yards will be excavated from the channel between Station 80+00 and Station 100+00, approximately 80,000 cubic yards between Station 200+00 and Station 230+00, approximately 400,000 cubic yards from between Station 230+00 and Station 350+00, and approximately 60,000 cubic yards from Ranges A and A1. Incidental work includes endangered species monitoring, sea turtle non-capture trawl sweeping, turbidity monitoring, beach tilling, and vibration monitoring. Only hopper dredges will be allowed to work on this task order. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. COAST GUARD CERTIFIED VESSELS ARE REQUIRED. The request for proposal will be issued on 18 November 2011 and proposals will be due on 20 December 2011. The award of the task order will be made on the basis of Lowest Price Technical Acceptable (LPTA); the technical evaluation factors are availability of technically acceptable plant and equipment and past performance.
