Description
THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND SERVES TO BENEFIT THE GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY. THE GOVERNMENT HAS RECIEVED AND RESPONDED TO BEST PRACTICES AND INDUSTRY FEEDBACK TO INCLUDE QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS REGARDING THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THE m-FoCS REQUIREMENT WILL BE SOLICITED ON A FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION BASIS IN A FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT UNDER THE SOLICITATION NUMBER W15P7T-12-R-0001 At the bottom of page under Additional Info please click on Additional Documentation link to review attachment titled "SpecialNotice_QandAs_18NOV2011" for Questions and Responses from this Special Notice posted 21 October 2011. Requirement Info: The Army's modernization effort of the Brigade Combat Team (BCT) has introduced a multitude of new and improved Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipments that will enhance the soldier's ability to plan, monitor, communicate and execute the mission. Each C4ISR system designed their own unique hardware to meet its stated operational requirement / mission. Installation of these C4ISR systems into command and control vehicles has become difficult due to space restrictions. Multiple Processors, Displays, Input/output and communications devices and installations kits within a command vehicle have reached the saturation point. The Size, Weight, Power and overall Cost (SWAP-C) involved with duplication of computing hardware for all these C4ISR systems is a major concern. The m-FoCS hardware (referred to as Mission Command Common Computing Platform (MC3P) in prior presolicitation announcements) is a means to alleviate these concerns.
