- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for:1. Continue support of the early phase of development of the MOMA electrical and RFsystems design. a. Continue development of a preliminary RF electronics concept b. aid the MOMA electronics lead in developing a preliminary digital and analogelectronics concept c. Build and test prototype RF electronics for proof-of-concept d. Develop a preliminary Instrument Control (CTL) electronics concept e. Build and test prototype CTL electronics for proof-of-concept 2. Participate in trade studies to identify options for minimizing mass, volume and powerand optimizing performance of the MOMA mass spectrometer electrical and RF systems 3. Assist in MOMA architecture development, to include unit specifications and interfacesa. Help define voltage levels and currents, specify electrical/electronic parts, identifyboard sizes and number of boards, identify interface connectors b. Define packaging requirements 4. Provide system resource predictions a. Define mass, power and volume requirements for the preliminary MOMA RF design b. Provide inputs to help define mass, power and volume requirements for preliminary MOMAanalog and digital electronics design 5. Identify available long lead parts required for EM and flight builds 6. Interface with the GSFC MOMA team on a regular basis with weekly telecons and monthlyor as required face to face meetings and provide a deliverable to the GSFC MOMAInstrument Manager of a monthly report on progress. Face to face meetings shall includeTechnical Interface Meetings and reviews. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation,which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQsystem to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The informationrequired by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writingOdessia.H.Becks@nasa.gov no later than 11/23/2011. It is the quoters responsibility tomonitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
