Description
The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 541330. The Port Hueneme Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to issue a request for proposal for a five (5) month period of performance modification extension and ceiling increase to contract N63394-06-D-1170 with Lockheed Martin Services, Incorporated (LMSI), 2330 Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, NJ for AEGIS Design Agent, Test and Evaluation (T&E), and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Field Engineering (FE) Services. Services are required at PHDNSWC, AEGIS Ships, and AEGIS Test Facilities. The modification will be issued on a sole-source basis to LMSI. As the Design Agent and sole manufacture of the Aegis Combat System, Lockheed Martin owns and maintains the proprietary data drawing packages, production capability, and system design expertise. The anticipated date of contract modification award is 31 January 2012. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
