Description
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is hosting an Industry Day for the Cannon House Office Building Renewal Project at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, Washington, DC, on December 12, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. and introductions begin at 9 a.m. This event is open to all Construction Management firms interested in learning more about the AOC and the Cannon Renewal Project. Significant agenda topics for Industry Day are as follows: -About the AOC -Introduction of AOC key staff members -How the AOC Does Business with the CM community -History of the Cannon Building -Overview of the Cannon Building Project -Summary of the Program of Requirements -Project Acquisition Strategy -Brief Summary of Construction Manager as Agent (CMa) Statement of Work -Brief Summary of Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) Statement of Work -FAQs from FedBizOpps announcement This event is free of charge. Pre-registration at www.aoc.gov/cannon is required. Due to limited seating and capacity, registration is limited to two attendees per firm. For those who cannot attend, highlights of the proceedings will be videotaped and available on the Cannon Building website. Two rooms are reserved for networking sessions with prime contractors and subcontractors - one for CMa's and one for CMc's. A limited number of attendees can reserve a table to share their corporate information at these sessions. Companies interested can register via the website and will be contacted prior to the event with more information. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions prior to the Industry Day to Tom Gard: tgard@aoc.gov. Written questions submitted by December 9, 2011, will be answered at Industry Day. Written questions received by December 16, 2011, will be answered and published at www.aoc.gov/cannon following Industry Day. For aid in forming questions, attendees are encouraged to review the draft Cannon Renewal Project solicitation to be published on FedBizOpps prior to Industry Day. Please note: food and drink are prohibited in the Capitol Visitor Center, for a complete list of prohibited items list please visit www.visitthecapitol.gov.
