Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR ADDITIONAL DATA AT THIS TIME. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT OBLIGATED TO (AND WILL NOT) PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM POTENTIAL SOURCES AS A RESULT OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. The Product Manager, Soldier Precision Targeting Devices (PM SPTD) division, located at Fort Belvoir Virginia, is seeking the interest of potential and eligible contractors for a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity action to retrofit a high accuracy, day/night celestial navigation module within the Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder (LLDR) system. The retrofit module shall accurately measure azimuth, while supplementing LDDR sensors, to meet current Army requirements. PM SPTD is considering a contract to retrofit these devices beginning fiscal year 2012, and is seeking information from interested companies who can demonstrate an ability to meet specifics that include, but may not be limited to, the following: TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT SUMMARY: 1. Azimuth Measurement: <6 mils 1 sigma (T), <1 mil within 60 seconds, nonmagnetic (O) 2. Vertical Angle Measurement: <4 mils 1 sigma (T), <1 mils within 60 seconds 3. Target Location Error: 10m CEP @ 2.5km (T), 10m CEP @ 10km (O) 4. Automatic Target Location Calculation (T) 5. Ruggedized to meet MIL-STD-810 environments (T) SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT: Delivery of qualified product shall be required beginning November 2012, at a rate of at least 20 systems per month. REQUESTED RESPONSE For manufacturers wishing to respond, please provide information demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirements, as well as delivery of qualified product, within the stated timeline. This action will meet urgent and ongoing warfighter needs. The timeframe for a response to this Sources Sought notice is 10 business days (5 December 2011). Please limit responses to under five pages.
