- Special Notice: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) is awarding a Purchase Order for the repair services of the following equipment: 32 each Sensor, Ice Free Wind (IFW) ASOS Model 425NWS (WS425D7A1C), ASN: S100-2A8MT3A2, 2 each CL31 Ceilometer, Vaisala PN: CL31ASOS, ASN: S100-2MT1-3 and 1 each CL31 Sealed Enclosure Assembly, ASN: S100-2MT1-3A. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, the original manufacturer, Vaisala, Inc. For ASN: S100-2A8MT3A2. Multiple searches of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Search did not identify any small business available to compete for this required repair service. Search parameters included a combination of NAICS codes ‘334511 and 334519' and key words: ‘repair ice free, wind sensors, Vaisala'; and just key words: ‘repair ice free, wind sensors, Vaisala'; ‘repair, ice free, wind sensors'; ‘repair, ultrasonic, wind sensors'; and ‘ultrasonic, wind sensors'. Searches of "Repair ice free wind sensors" and "Repair ultrasonic wind sensors" in GSA's eLibrary also returned no matches. A Sources Sought was posted on November 14, 2011 for 5 days and no responses were received.
