- This requirement is for a contract extension (W58RGZ-06-D-0072) for up to 6 months with Rolls-Royce Corporation to obtain continued CLS support of the Critical Safety Item (CSI) designated Rolls-Royce Model 250-C30/R3 engine pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services. The current contract is sole source to Rolls-Royce Corporation, 2355 S. Tibbs Ave., Indianapolis, IN., in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no other Supplies or Services will satisfy agency requirements. Since Rolls-Royce Corporation is the only approved source that has open access to technical data, the engineering skills necessary to provide support, the ability to resolve engine problems encountered by the field and the capability of providing the total support required by this proposed contract. The CLS contract extension will encompass total logistics support to include Contractor Field Service Representative (CFSR) support, engineering services (many of which require access to proprietary data), engine configuration management, engine component Government Furnished Material (GFM) spare parts replenishment and repair parts support, upgrade/repair/overhaul/maintenance capability, technical problem resolution, manufacturing engine training and support services, and program management. The corresponding NAICS code for this procurement is 336412. Firms that recognize and can produce the required items described above are encouraged to identify themselves. A Request For Proposal for a contract extension shall not be issued due to extending contract in accordance with FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services.
