Description
Compliance Matrix, RFP FQ12093/RAM Vacuum Excavator and Material Handling Consist, RFP FQ12093/RAM The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is soliciting proposals for a Vacuum Excavator and Material Handling Consist. The purpose of the Vacuum Excavator or "Vacavator" is for the efficient excavating of track ballast along the right of way including track ties, rail and other wayside apparatus. The equipment must be capable of operating on the Authority's rail infrastructure including dynamic outline and weight restrictions. This is a "Best Value" solicitation and the Authority intends to award one fixed priced contract. A Pre Proposal Conference (PPC) is scheduled for 10: a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Alexandria Yard Track and Structure Maintenance Facility, 3101 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22314. Please arrive early as there is gate security. Proposals are due Thursday, January 12, 2012 by 2 p.m. and shall be delivered to WMATA, Office of Procurement and Materials, Room 3C-01, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. Any questions regarding the solicitation should be made in writing to the Contracting Officer no later than ten business (10) days prior to the proposal due date. The solicitation includes a DBE goal of 1.5%.
