Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposal or quotes and does not obligated the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (Hub Zone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, or service disabled veteran owned and veteran owned small businesses) relative to NAICS 621111 (size standard of $10 Million). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement, in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Alexandria VAMC is seeking sources to provide part time onsite urologist services to beneficiaries of the Alexandria Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The contractor shall provide a board certified Urologist to provide two clinics per week for patient examinations, minor surgical procedures (primarily cystoscopies and prostate biopsies) and occasional emergency surgical assistance at the Alexandria VA Medical Center in Pineville LA. Services will be performed at the VAMC located in Pineville, LA and will contain an on-call weeknight and weekend requirement. The patient population requiring services may include inpatients and outpatients with a variety of Urology disorder and diseases, including cancer, and may be inpatients in the VA's acute care, psychiatric or long term care wards. The intended contract period will be for a base period and option periods to equal 5 years total, which is projected to begin on 01 May 2012. The Government is seeking to pay the Contractor the current Medicare rates (or a reduced Medicare rate) for CPT procedures performed during the clinical hours. The VAMC will be providing the testing in-house, this contract is for the professional component of the CPT procedure. The Government will negotiate an on-call rate for weeknights and weekends.
