- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the procurement of weapon launch equipment installed on the VIRGINIA Class Submarine. The Contractor shall manufacture, inspect, assemble and certify the bearing cartridge bearing assemblies and components in the following quantities (2 ea) Aft Thrust Bearing Assembly (P/N 6407178); (2 ea) Forward Thrust Bearing Assembly (P/N 6407179); (4 ea) Radial Bearing (P/N 6407176). The hardware shall be manufactured in accordance with the listed NAVSEA drawings and specifications in the procurement specification. The aft thrust bearing assembly is considered SUBSAFE/MICLEVEL I hardware and must be manufactured in accordance with strict quality control guidelines as identified in the procurement specification and Subsafe reqirements. Award will be made on a Best Value basis with Technical Capability (Technical Approach & Past Performance) and Cost as the evaluation factors. Due to restricted distribution statements, the drawings will not be posted on our website. Joint Certification Program (JCP) registered contractors may send an e-mail request for the drawings to Michael Broomfield at michael.h.broomfield@navy.mil citing RFQ N66604-12-R-0309, include company name and address, JCP number, cage code and telephone number and point of contact. Drawings will be sent once JCP registration is confirmed. Additional information will be provided upon the release of the solicitation, which is expected to be on or about 12 Dec 2011.
