- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to award on a sole-source basis a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for one year plus four one-year option periods in accordance with FAR Part 15 to provide contractor field team support, in-service depot level drive-in and crash damage repair, and manufacture of associated parts/materials for one (1) T-39D aircraft. NAVAIR intends to award the proposed contract on a sole source basis to Sabreliner Corporation (Sabreliner) of St. Louis, MO in support of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) due to the T-39D unique capabilities and T-39D proprietary data required to perform the work under this procurement. It should be noted that the T-39D is a unique, one-of-a-kind, aircraft. Standardized/interchangeable parts that are acceptable for the T-39G and T-39N variants of this airframe, are not interchangeable and/or suitable parts for use on the T-39D due to its uniqueness. Sabreliner was awarded on a sole-source basis the previous contract, N00019-06-D-0016, for this effort, which expired on 30 September 2010. The Request for Proposal will be issued in January 2012 and will be available through www.fbo.gov/. The anticipated award date is 28 February 2012.
