Description

The following question was recieved, concerning the CAD Drawing requirement for year one of Fire Alarm/Suppression System Inspection/Maintenance Service RFQ VA-251-12-Q-0036-001, Item "t", page 6. Question: Please clarify the full requirements of the CAD Drawing requirements for the Sprinkler and ventilation systems. Answer: The VA is providing existing CAD Drawings of all require buildings on campus. CAD Drawings will consist of additional layers for: a. Sprinkler Systems. Please consider the CAD requirements to include all available specifications for the Sprinkler Systems, to include pipe dimensions, cut-off valves, drains and fittings. Sprinkler heads are already plotted in existing drawings. Includes Bldg. 1 (Main) (Basement - 3rd Floor, Penthouse) and Bldg. 22 (Nursing Home)(Basement - 2nd Floor); Garage, Warehouse also have sprinkler systems. We would like the separate layer for the Sprinkler System, to include Standpipe Risers; Fire Hydrants; Check valves and valve fittings; Flow switches; Drains (test-points); Stairwells and external loading dock (Dry and Anti-freeze) sprinkler sections; Post Indicator Valve (PIV) and any other associated components. b.Ventilation Fire/Smoke Barriers. We would like a separate layer to reflect all ventilation fire-smoker dampers (fusible links) and tampers, duct Smoke detectors, etc. Exceptions: Main Bldg. 1, Floors 4 and 5 are being upgraded as part of a VA NRM Project. Those two floors will be provided by the Contractor performing the upgrades. The Energy Center adjacent to the Main Bldg. is also covered by the Contractor performing that NRM Project.
