Description
The Contractor shall conduct inventories, develop and review authorized use lists, obtain and file Material Safety Data Sheets, stock shelves, implement bar coding, order materials, dispose/transfer all non- authorized use list items, populate Hazardous Substance Material Management System database, receive, store and issue material, as well as receiving empty containers. The Contractor shall provide technical advice and assistance to hazardous materials users on the management of hazardous materials to include storage and disposal, participation in the Hazardous Minimization program, and pollution prevention. The Contractor shall provide technical expertise, evaluation, and requirements for materials substitutions to reduce generation of hazardous wastes. The Contractor shall perform site inspections for all site hazardous materials storage areas to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The contractor shall collect hazardous material which is in excess of the customer's needs, and store the material at the Hazardous Materials Minimization Center. The contractor shall process partially used containers of useable hazardous material, from customers, back into the Hazardous Materials Minimization Center as Cost Avoidance material. The contractor shall issue Cost Avoidance material to customers as authorized by BSU Honolulu. The Contractor shall assist in spill response activities as directed including but not limited to assessing cleanup requirements, providing containment, stopping the release, and removal of spilled material. Training in hazardous material handling per the requirements of OSHA per Title 29, CFR, Part 1910.1200, and in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) per Title 29, CFR, Part 1910.120 - Basic is required.
