- THE PURPOSE FOR THIS MODIFICATION IS TO CANCEL SOLICITATION NUMBER W52P1J-11-R-5032 AND REPLACE IT WITH SOLICITATION NUMBER W52P1J-12-R-5000. This construction project is for cleaning and painting on the interiors of several large manufacturing facilities of the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. The buildings involved in this project are Building 220, 4th Floor East Apprentice Machining Area, Tool Gage & West EDM/Tool Room Production Area: Building 230 North SCEM & FRS Weld Area, and Building 299 NE Shipping, SECM & Paint area. These are large, open, complex industrial single level spaces with ceiling heights varying from approximately 13 feet to in excess of 30 feet. Items to be cleaned, prepared and painted include walls, ceilings (steel, concrete)all structural members including sttel roof trusses, concrete slab ceilings, steel beams, girders and purlins. Also included are all columns, either steel or concrete. Non-structural items to be cleaned, prepped and painted include all exposed duct work, piping and conduit. All cranes regardless of type and size, all handrails, safety rails, barriers, catwalks, stairs and ladders are also to be cleaned, prepped and painted. Items to be cleaned but not painted include: interior surface of building windows, exposed plastic sealed wall and ceiling insulation, transite wall panels, any exposed brass, copper, aluminum, stainless or galvanized materials. Contractor shall also provide adhesive id tags for all columns, ductwork and piping. Contractor shall be responsible to protect all equipment, machinery and materials within the project space. Two stairwells, in building 220 may contain lead. The Contractor shall be responsible for testing and any required abatement. All work is anticipated to be performed on second and third shifts. The contract requires a base bid. The contractor is required to provide all materials, labor, equipment, and quality control, etc. to complete the work IAW the Scope of Work (SOW). Areas requiring cleaning, preparation and paint are identified in the SOW.
