Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Aperio Technologies, Inc., Vista, CA 92081, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for the following renewal: 1) Aperio Service and Support for a Scanscope FL (s/n 6146) with Spectrum Plus, 4TB Server, Analysis Accelerator System and a 2x3 Tray FL for the period of: 12/28/2011-12/27/2012; 2) Aperio Service & Support for a Scanscope XT (s/n 1282) with Spectrum Plus, 8TB Server and Image Analysis Toolbox for the period of: 5/5/2012-12/27/2012. One Slide Tray for XT for the period of: 4/21/2012-12/27/2012. The Aperio Scanscope is compatible with the equipment/infrastructure already existing in the IC for which the training, operating, and data pipelines have been designed. Aperio Technologies, Inc. is the manufacturer and sole distributor for these instruments. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is note advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed Aperio Technologies, Inc. The NAICS Code /Size is 811219/7.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part, 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
