- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Rockwell Collins, 400 Collins Road NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498. The Aviation System Standards (AVN), Flight Inspection Flight Programs Division, (AJW-393) have a requirement for nonrecurring engineering support for the development of the TSO for the ILS Offset feature to the ProLine 21 Avionics Suite in the CL-605 aircraft. The material/components are necessary for installation of the ILS Offset in each of the FAA's two CL-605 Flight Inspection aircraft, and include the cost to develop the Supplemental Type Certificate documentation. This TSO is applicable to only FAA's Flight Inspection Aircraft and is for use in testing ILS approach systems at airports. The parts are required to support the modernization of the FAA's Airborne Flight Inspection System (AFIS). These upgrades are only available from Rockwell Collins. The total estimated value is $236,217.00. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A full and open competition is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with the single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing the above and the FAA will evaluate this accordingly.
