Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS The Department of Veterans' Affairs, Miami VA Medical Center, located in Miami, Florida intends to solicit, negotiate and award a contract to trade in broken rigid endoscopes, flexible endoscopes and a high-definition camera head. In exchange, VA will receive remanufactured units fully compliant with original manufacturer specifications and under warranty. An indefinite-quantity contract for the period of up to one year is contemplated. The initial quantity of broken items offered for exchange for remanufactured units is 11 in total: 7 rigid scopes (broken rod lenses and 1 bent shaft), 3 flexible scopes (leak tests failed), 1 camera head (cut on cord). All items were originally manufactured by Karl Storz. For the contemplated contract action, VA presently intends to negotiate with only one source, Karl Storz, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties are encouraged to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Providing a concise description of your experience in exchanging equipment of this type and the sources for parts employed in producing remanufactured units will aid in evaluating your response. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received by 4:00 p.m. EST, December 16, 2011, will be considered by the Government. A determination whether to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government consistent with statutory and regulatory requirements. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The applicable NAICS is 339112 with a Size Standard of 500 employees. Presently, no solicitation document is available. Spoken statements of interest will not be considered as responsive.
