- This is a Request for Information (RFI) notice only. This RFI is for informational planning purposes only and it not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any actual procurement of materials, machinery, or services. This notice does not constitute a solicitation or a promise of a solicitation in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI are solely at the responding parties' expense. Respondents are solely responsible for properly marking and clearly identifying any proprietary information or trade secrets contained within their response. The Government will not be liable for, or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly marked and clearly identified. Proprietary information received in response to this sources sought will be safeguarded and handled in accordance with applicable Government regulations. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The BEP will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this RFI. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) manufactures US currency. The BEP has two locations one in Washington DC referred to as the Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) and one in Fort Worth, Texas referred to as the Western Currency Facility (WCF). The BEP is issuing this RFI seeking a vendor who can provide the material and services related to satellite phones as listed below. Please limit response to 5 pages. All responses shall be in Windows compatible format (Word, Excel, Power Point). All response shall be via email attachment. Include your companies' capability for providing the following: 1. Hand-Held satellite Phones, with the following features/options: a. Phone should have the following capabilities: i. Voice ii. Data services, including Internet and e-mail access, voicemail, incoming SMS, and position location. b. (Two) Lithium Batteries. c. Data interface kit. Kit to include a data cable and installation (if required) CD for setup and access. d. Wall charger. e. Interface for external antenna. f. Magnetic antenna. g. AC Travel charger with Intl Plug Kit h. Water-tight Pelican Hard Case to contain phone and accessories. i. Leather, or other suitable material, holster for phone. j. User manuals k. All manufacturers' warranties. 2. Satellite phone service for 6 satellite phones, service will support: a. Sat phone to sat calls. b. Sat phone to sat phone calls outside of carrier's network. c. Sat phone to PSTN calls. d. Voice mail. e. Data. f. SMS. g. 24/7/365 satellite visibility. h. International satellite constellation foot print. 3. Business size classification. If an 8(a) vendor, please include your point of contact at the Small Business Administration (SBA). 4. Point of Contact including: name, email, phone number, physical address, and web address.
