Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Furnish and install turn-key operating meteorological tower for assessing wind resource that will remain in place for one year. Provide quotes for checking tower integrity as required. Location, Center Strafford, NH. Tower base location approximately Lat 43.273623, Lon 71.125261. The site is a grass-covered hillside (see attached images). Soils: According to the USDA Natural Resources Conservation service the tower site is underlain by two soils, a Paxton fine sandy loam on 0 to 8% slopes, and a Woodbridge fine sandy loam on 0 to 8% slopes. Depth to water table is 12" to 36", and depth to bedrock is more than 80". Soils are sandy loams to at least 41" depth, but they are also gravelly below about 11" depth. USCS classifications are GM and ML at the surface, and GM, ML and SM below 11". Potential for frost action is moderate to high. 1. 34-m steel tower with anchors and gin pole - anchors not to exceed distance of 60' from tower. 2. Winch for tower raising and lowering. 3. FAA clearance lights at tower top - local requirement. 4. Lightning protection. 5. Cable visibility ball kit. 6. Yellow guy wire guards. 7. Site preparation. 8. Six calibrated anemometers, one heated and one unheated, at 34-m, 20-m, and 10-m above ground level (agl). 9. One heated wind vane at 34-m. 10. Two unheated wind vanes, one at 20-m agl and one at 10-m agl. 11. Stand-off booms for all instruments. 12. Boom for GSE RM Young Model 81000 Ultrasonic anemometer and GSE wiring to be installed from at or near 34-m to ground level by contractor. Government will supply and connect ultrasonic anemometer to GSE power supply and GSE data logger at ground level before tower raising to test equipment. 13. Data logging and wireless data transfer equipment. 14. Instructions/tutorial on tower and instrument maintenance and data retrieval.
