- The VA Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa intends to award a sole source Contract with three option years to Alcon Laboratories Inc, under authority of FAR 6.302-1. The intent is to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the servicing/maintenance of VACIHCS' infinity phaco/vitrectomy unit. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This FBO posting announcement is being placed to satisfy requirements in FAR 5.201. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
