Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. The NAICS 326212 (Tire Retreading) applies to this Sources Sought notice and any subsequent contract vehicle. Responses to this sources sought notice shall not constitute a response to a solicitation, which is not currently available. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely the Government's discretion. This sources sought notice is not to be constructed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any government assessments. The information received will be utilized to assist in formulating the strategy for competitive requirements. Submissions will be retained by the Government and not returned. This Sources Sought Notice is Unclassified. The Department of Army, Theater Contracting Center, 409th Contracting Support Brigade (CSB), is seeking viable sources specializing in tire re-treading services in Germany. Tires used on tractors and five ton cargo trucks, sizes 385/65R 22.5 and 315/80R 22.5, must be retreaded with commonly known commercial tread design profile, using the low temperature process (approximately 90 degrees Celsius), unless the steel belt is defective or corroded. Tires with unserviceable steel belts will be retreaded utilizing the "hot vulcanizing" process and the defective steel belt will be replaced. To maximize potential opportunity, the Government is seeking input from the business community regarding their interest and capability in performing some or all of the tasks of this planned requirement. The Government requests demonstration of capability by all interested parties by providing the following information: 1. A brief capability statement stating your skills, experience, knowledge and equipment required to perform the specified type of work. 2. Name of firm with address, phone, e-mail and name of point of contact. Please also include your CAGE Code, DUNS number. Interested sources shall state whether they are capable to satisfy the above criteria by responding via e-mail with the above requested information, referencing "Tires Retread Sources Sought", in the Subject line of your e-mail to: Mr. Carlos Morales, carlos.r.morales10.civ@mail.mil or to the Contracting officer, Ms. Anna Rusinowski, anna.m.rusinowski.civ@mail.mil. Response shall be received no later than 22 December 2011.
