Description
The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Contracting and Procurement Branch 3, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for the manufacture of MK75 Gun System Water Shields. The Water Shields shall be manufactured in accordance with NAVSEA Drawing 5519935 (excluding Note 10). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 332995 and the small business standard is less than 500 employees. The acquisition will be issued as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about January 5, 2012. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FedBizOps) web page at www.fbo.gov. This requirement will be evaluated using price and past performance as evaluation factors. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FedBizOps web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FedBizOps also contains an optional automatic notification service. It is intended to award a Requirements Type Contract with an estimated quantity of three each water shields for the base year and three each for the four option years. Delivery shall be made to the U. S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226 within 16 weeks from the date of an individual delivery order. The Contractor is responsible for all inspection/tests requirements; Test Plan for approval is due within 15 days after contract award. Final Test Report required for each unit. All welders and welding procedures shall be qualified by the contractor in accordance with QW-485 Standard Welding Procedures Specification, QW-484-A, Welder Qualification Records, and QA-484-B Welding Operator Qualification Records, and shall be submitted with RFQ.
