Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, bids, or quotations. At this time, there are NO PROJECT PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS AVAILABLE. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area of the U.S. Forest Service is doing market research to understand the numbers and types of general construction contractors who have the capability and are interested in performing the following construction project: Middle Kyle Complex Visitor Center - Located on HWY 157 near Mt. Charleston, NV the Middle Kyle Complex will be the gateway facility for visitors coming to the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. The project will include extensive site-work while reclaiming and terracing the upper plaza of an abandoned golf course site (approximately 30 acres) for the construction of utilities, parking lots, trails, landscaping, picnic areas, educational nodes, interpretation areas, amphitheater, an 800 square foot educational building, and a 4,500 square foot visitor center. The visitor center will have dedicated interpretation areas and retail sales space. The prospective contractor will be required to construct interpretive elements on the site and they will coordinate with interpretive designers and interpretive fabricators in this project. Interest vendors who are registered in the Central Contractors Register (CCR), and possess conventional bonding ability for construction jobs in the $10 Million + range should provide your company information to USDA Forest Service Attn: Marge Schafer, Contracting Officer, USDA Forest Service, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89140, or email to msschafer@fs.fed.us. All information must be received by the Forest Service no later than January 13, 2012, 2:00 PM PST. Interested vendors should attach informational material about the company including brochures, etc. All information shall be submitted in Word or PDF format, not to exceed 10 pages, including all attachments. Please include in your submission answers to the following: A) Under NAICS Code 236220 -Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, are you a large or small business against the SBA size standard of $33.5 Million? B) If another NAICS code may be applicable, please indentify the NAICS in your Capability Statement. C) Is your company certified in a particular socio-economic set-aside category, such as Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Woman Owned Business, HUBZone Owned Business, or 8(a) Business? D) Provide a brief overview of your company experience performing Building/Facility construction work in the $10 Million+ dollar range. (Please highlight any of this work done for the U.S. Forest Service or other land management agencies and work done in the Las Vegas bowl area). E) Provide the disciplines of labor and expertise your company carries "in-house", and the disciplines and trades you normally sub-contract. F) What is your expected capacity to perform this large project between the fall of 2012 and fall 2014. An organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. We anticipate this project being available in late summer of 2012; however there is no guarantee or implication of a guarantee that this project will be solicited. Responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation.
