- ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.5 to ALFAB Inc., 220 Boll Weevil Cir E, Enterprise, AL 36330 for the purchase of AM2 Aluminum Airfield Matting. The Government has a requirement for AM2 aluminum airfield matting capable of being suitable over a variety of surfaces. ALFAB is the only producer and supplier of this matting. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)-only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. ALFAB is the only known source capable of meeting the Government's requirements due to the proprietary nature of the matting. Organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 1200 hours (12:00pm) CST, Thursday, 15 December 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to Markeda.L.Mims@usace.army.mil with solicitation number referenced in the subject line.
