The Government anticipates soliciting offerors for award of a firm-fixed price contract with a basic quantity of approximately 17,984 GAMs in FY13, with four priced and evaluated option years for a quantity of 30,064 GAMs in FY14 and 30,784 GAMs in FY16. A brief description of the 81mm GAMs follows: Gas Adsorbent Module: The Gas Adsorbent Module or GAM consists of a plastic circular housing filled with two packets of a chemical adsorbent. The plastic housing is made of high impact polystyrene and has an approximate OD of 3.1 inches and an ID of 2.3 inches. Additionally it is approximately 1.85 inches tall. The plastic housing is divided into 2 interlocking pieces. Each piece consists of an upper and lower housing. Two halves are then combined to make the entire housing. The halves are held together with a piece of identifying tape with a warning printed on it. The housing holds 2 Tyvek bags containing the adsorbent chemical. The adsorbent is a commercially available phosphine adsorbent. Each bag is held inside the housing with 2 packet retainers. The retainers are made of MPR and are approximately 1.68 inches tall and.265 inches by.335 inches in cross-section. Additionally they contain a C notch to retain the edge of the bag. Offerors capabilities must include experience in fabrication, assembling and inspection. The Offeror must possess the necessary equipment, facilities, tooling and material (including packaging and palletization material) to fabricate and deliver the above components. Potential candidates must have manufacturing experience for production of the Gas Adsorbent Module for the 81mm M819 Smoke Cartridges. Interested firms with the capability of providing the 81mm Smoke Gas Adsorbent Module should provide, at no cost to the government, a summary of their firms past experience, capabilities, CAGE Code, size of business (small or large business), storage facilities, description of facilities and personnel to meet these requirements, equipment, tooling, processes, quality control of material and process, packaging, palletization and any other areas of expertise that may enable them to undertake efforts of similar complexity and magnitude within 30 days of this publication by electronic mail to: deborah.olivieri1@us.army.mil.
