U.S. Flag Carrier Shipment Requirements Public Release of Information Past Performance Questionnaire Omnibus Cert. Pamphlet Nouakchott FedBizOpps Department of State 2012 Design-Build Contract for US Embassy Nouakchott, Mauritania RFP SAQMMA-12-R0075 Notice of Solicitation of Submissions for Contractor Pre-Qualification THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE (DOS), Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) is requesting submissions to pre-qualify firms for Design-Build (D/B) services for the design and construction of a Standard Embassy Design New Embassy Compound (NEC). This project will be executed under OBO's Design Excellence Program. The project will consist of the design and construction of a compound to house U.S. Diplomatic functions at the particular overseas location listed below. The project is described below. 1. Project Description (Secret Facility and Personnel Security Clearances Required) SAQMMA-12-R0075 Nouakchott, Mauritania New Embassy Compound. Anticipated work includes: New Office Building (NOB), Marine Security Guard Quarters (MSGQ), warehouse, shops, maintenance facilities, perimeter security, vehicle and pedestrian access control facilities, utility building, bathhouse/cabana and surface parking. The scope may include a wind power system designed to provide a balanced performance with the overall compound electrical power scheme. Approximate NOB size: 8,900 gsm. Approximate MSGQ size: 950 gsm. Warehouse/Shops Approximate size: 2,700 gsm. Utility Building Approximate size: 544gsm. Three CACs Approximate total size: 663gsm. Bathhouse/Cabana Approximate size: 225gsm. Surface parking comprising official and non-official vehicles Approximate total area: 4,682 gsm. The site is approximately 42,500 sm (10.5 acres) in size. Approximate design-build cost: $115 to $140 million. The constructed compound will demonstrate an elevated standard of design quality for diplomatic facilities in its architecture, engineering, and construction. OBO requires that the completed compound be sustainable with high-performance facilities. The design requirements documents, which will be provided by OBO in the Project Solicitation Phase II, are an example of OBO's commitment to Design Excellence.
