- Description
- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source, Cost Plus Incentive Fee modification to the IRST EMD Contract, N00019-11-C-0036, to The Boeing Company in St. Louis, MO. This effort allow a Mass Event Spectrum (MES) analysis to be conducted on the IRST system. The MES is required as the result of a change in the loads environment for the IRST system of the F/A-18 E/F platform. The analysis is required to assess durability of the IRST system in support of obtaining the necessary flight clearances to fly the IRST system on the F/A-18 E/F. Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and supplier of the IRST system and only Boeing has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR's requirements.
