- This is a Pre-solicitation, Request for Information (RFI).This is the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) initial outreach intended to engage industry (as addressed in attached cover letter) in an exchange of ideas that will assist us in finalizing our requirements for managing large data sets. The cover letter contains questions to industry with instructions on how to respond below "titled" How to respond to questions listed in attachment no. 1 "Cover Letter". In addition to the cover letter, a "DRAFT" Performance Work Statement (PWS) is attached summarizing objectives to be met by the solution. Notice:=BF This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes as part of Market Research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 10 and does not constitute a solicitation. =BF All information received in response to this RFI will be treated as business confidential information, and exempted from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Nonetheless, submitters should properly mark their responses, accordingly, if the information is considered to be confidential or proprietary. =BF Responses to the RFI will not be returned nor is it BSEE=BFs intent at this phase to exchange information or to provide feedback to your responses. =BF Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot/will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. =BF Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.How to Respond to Questions that are listed in Attachment No. 1 Cover Letter: =BF Preferred method of submission electronic communication "email."=BF Please submit your written responses to the attached questions no later than9 January 2012, 12pm (EST) via email "only" to the primary contact: Warren E. Schachte via email at brian.schachte@bsee.gov and the Contracting Officer, at email Frank.Bennett@bsee.gov.=BF No telephone inquires will be accepted.=BF The attached document contains directed questions. You may answer any or all of the questions, to the best of your ability. Please respond using the number of the question found in the attachment. =BF Failure to respond to this request for information will not prohibit offerors from responding to any subsequent solicitations related to this program.=BF Companies responding to this RFI shall designate a single point of contact within that company for receipt of all subsequent information regarding this pre-solicitation.=BF To fully comprehend the information contained within a response to this RFI, the reviewing group "may" seek further clarification on that response.
