- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC) Radiology and Imaging Sciences Department has a requirement to acquire preventative maintenance,for equipment referenced below. This is a Combined Synopsis for Commercial Services prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; a separate solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation NIHCL2011086 includes all provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-49 with amendments dated Jan 24, 2011. The acquisition will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.5 to use simplified procedures for commercial requirements. The standard North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219 and the size standard is $19,5 million dollars. Background: The Confocal Microscope is manufactured by Zeiss. It includes the Spectral Detection 34 Channel, Laser Diode 405nm, and Axio Examiner Lower Body MOT which comprises the ScanHead LSM 710 (S/N 2501000200). All are controlled via computer using Zeiss proprietary software. We use these for analytical and preparative determination of stem cell labeling, as well as imaging contrast agents for in-vivo animal imaging in support of protocols LDRR 09-01 and LDRR 09-02 and for translational research in the newly established NIH multi-institutional Center for Interventional Oncology. Scope: A preventive maintenance visit with extended warranty on the system and its components listed above. Description of work: Zeiss will adjust, repair and replace such parts as may be necessary to put the equipment in good working order. The extended warranty will extend the standard one (1) year warranty supplied with the original equipment purchase by 1 year. The contract covers the serial numbered item listed above, but does not cover computers, consumables, expendable items, or physical damage. Period of Coverage: The contract will cover the time per a base year with four option years from issue of purchase order. Place of performance: All services need to be performed at: NIH Bldg 10, Room 1N306 10 Center Drive Bethesda, MD 20892 Justification: We use this equipment for protocols LDRR 09-01, LDRR 09-02 and for translational research in the Center for Interventional Oncology for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of stem cell labeling and various other fluorescent compounds in addition to imaging contrast agents of tissues and animals.
