SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: The VA Stars & Stripes Healthcare Network (VISN 4) seeks potential sources for the purchase and delivery of bulk rock salt and bagged calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride to VISN 4 Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) in Altoona, PA, Butler, PA, Clarksville, WV, Coatesville, PA, Lebanon, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA (3 separate locations), Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Wilmington, DE. The bulk rock salt and bagged calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride will be delivered on a will-call basis. The contractor will furnish all labor, material, and transportation necessary to provide bulk rock salt and bagged calcium chloride and/or magnesium chloride deliveries to the VAMCs. The period of performance is from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012, with up to four one-year option periods. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 424690. VISN 4 anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on or before Friday, July 22, 2011. Offers will be due to the Contracting Officer by 10:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time, Monday, August 22, 2011. This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for proposals. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. Interested parties should register online and subscribe to receiving procurement announcements related to this solicitation by entering the website at http://fedbizopps.gov/. All solicitation information will be made available through the FEDBIZOPPs website. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Contractors must be current and active in CCR in order to be eligible for contract award. Interested parties are requested to submit responses to this Sources Sought notice by 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Friday, July 15, 2011.
