Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking small business sources for a supply requirement entitled: "Dworshak and Little Goose Thrust Bearings and Runners". This is scheduled to be issued as a Firm Fixed Price commercial supply contract. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine interest and capability of small businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification code (NAICS) 332710. The Small Business size standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees. To make an appropriate acquisition decision for this project, the Government may use responses to this sources sought. The type of solicitation issued and the manner of advertisement may depend on the responses to this sources sought. Large businesses may also respond to this announcement. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (1)Your intent to submit a proposal for this project when it is formally advertised. (2)Name of firm with address, phone number, e-mail address and point of contact. (3)CAGE Code and DUNS number. (4)The category of small business, such as small business, 8(a), HUBZONE, or SDVOSB if applicable (5)Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, knowledge, and equipment required to perform the specified type of work. This should include documentation of past specialized experience and technical competence in fabricating similar product. Submit no more than three (3) past projects to document your firm's experience. The SOC should be no more than three pages in length. For this project, please include documentation of the following certifications: 1.ISO 9000 Certification or Equivalence 2.Independent Ultrasonic Inspection Qualifications: NDT ASNT RP SNT-TC-1A Level 2 qualified with three (3) years of current experience Firms responding to this sources sought synopsis, that fail to provide ALL of the required information requested, will not be used to assist the Government in the acquisition decision, which is the intent of this sources sought synopsis. The requirement is for furnishing one 95 inch diameter spare set of 24 segmented guide bearing shoes for the Dworshak Powerhouse (Idaho) Unit 3 hydroelectric vertical generator. The segments are approximately 13 inches by 7 inches by 4 inches. The furnished shoes shall duplicate existing segments. Equipment Description The Dworshak Dam Unit 3 generator is a vertical, Francis turbine-driven unit, rated at 233,684 KVA, 0.95 power factor, and 128.6 rpm, and was manufactured by Allis-Chalmers. Little Goose Dam: Furnish, package, and ship one spare set of Generator Thrust Bearing Shoes and Appurtenances. The requirement is for furnishing one spare set of twelve 122 inch thrust bearing stationary segments (shoes) and appurtenances for the Little Goose Powerhouse (Washington) main hydroelectric vertical generators, Units 1-3. The shoe segments are a truncated pie shape with dimensions approximately 37" long, 26" wide (at OD), 10" wide (at ID), and 3" thick. The new thrust shoes will be spares to be used in any one of 6 generating units, 3 of which are located at Little Goose Powerhouse (Units 1-3) and 3 of which are located at Lower Monumental Powerhouse (Units 1-3). Equipment Description Little Goose Dam generators are vertical, Kaplan turbine-driven units, rated at 142,105 KVA, 0.95 power factor, and 90 rpm, and were manufactured by General Electric Company in the 1960's. Little Goose Dam: Furnish, package, and ship one Generator Thrust Bearing Runner and Appurtenances. The requirement is for furnishing a 1-piece 122 inch thrust bearing rotating element (thrust runner) and appurtenances for the Little Goose Powerhouse (Washington) main hydroelectric vertical generators, Units 1-3. The existing runner is 2-piece, but the new runner shall be 1-piece. The runner dimensions are nominally as follows: ID - 47 1/2 inches; OD - 122 1/4 inches; Thickness - 7 inches. The runner will be a spare to be used in any one of 3 generating units, Units 1-3, located at the Little Goose Powerhouse, as well as any one of 3 generating units, Units 1-3, located at the Lower Monumental Powerhouse. To summarize, the following shall be supplied: a. One 1-Piece Thrust Bearing Runner b. Eight Runner to Collar Dowels (bushings). Equipment Description The Little Goose Dam generators are vertical, Kaplan turbine-driven units, rated at 142,105 KVA, 0.95 power factor, and 90 rpm, and were manufactured by General Electric in the 1960's. Other information: The solicitation will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities web site (www.fbo.gov) when released. Quotes/Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the actual solicitation issue date.
