DUE: December 23, 2011 SET ASIDE: N/A NAICS: 238220 POP STATE: New York PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Brooklyn VA, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209 AGENCY: Bronx VA Medical Center, 130 W. Kingsbridge R., Bronx, VA 10468 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: Sources Sought only. This is not a request for formal proposals or quotes. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Seeking Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), 8-A, Hub Zone, Small Disadvantaged, Woman Owned Small Businesses or other small or large businesses to procure Operating Room HVAC system Test and Rebalance the 4th floor North East side Operating Room HVAC system air exchanges to bring it as close to original design of fifteen (15) air changes per hour and positive pressure relative to adjacent spaces. AC9 serves the Operation Room area, rooms 4-500 thru 4-516. These include seven (7) Operating rooms (OR #1-6), two (2) former Operating rooms now used as storage (OR #7-8), eight (8) scrub rooms, and six (6) storage rooms, for a total of twenty-three (23) rooms. The testing and balancing for OR suite must be done at night/weekends only. 1.SPD HVAC system Test and rebalance the Basement SPD HVAC system air exchanges to bring it as close to original design of ten (10) air changes per hour. For the soiled decontamination area, room must have negative pressure relative to adjacent spaces; for the clean preparation area, room must have positive pressure relative to adjacent spaces. AC2 and AC3 both serve the SPD area. There are approximately fifteen (15) rooms in this area that include sterile supply areas, non-sterile supply areas, storage and processing, and offices. There are approximately twenty (20) supply registers and twenty (20) exhaust registers. Testing and balancing on SPD can be done on normal hour but must be coordinated with COTR. In event it can't be done on normal hour then it must be done after hour and on weekends. 2.All work shall be done in compliance with the VA HVAC criteria and ASHRAE. 3.Report shall be broken down by individual areas listed above. 4.In addition to measuring the individual areas, the AHU supplying those areas shall be tested. This includes AC-2, 2A, 3, 5, 9. 5.The contractor shall be provided mechanical drawings for the air handing units and areas being tested. 6.Report shall include supply CFM and exchanges exhaust CFM and exchanges and room pressure relation to adjacent space. CFM will be listed by each register. 7.Provide 3 copies the testing and balancing report 8.Contractor shall perform TAB work during evening hours including or weekends in specialty areas such as operating rooms to avoid interfering with the Medical Center Normal Operation. In Sterile areas, such as OR and SPD, the contractor will be required to wear sterile clothing and obey the Medical Center policy regarding infection control.
